We were blessed with our first Miniature American Shepherd in 1996, which launched us into a breeding program that has produced many Champions and Multi Champions. With the acquisition of Bluegrass Lakhota Brave Bear from Bluegrass Kennels in 2002 and Vineyards Rhapsody In Bluegrass in 2003, I entered the show ring with our first 2 show dogs. We had shown horses in the past (we raised quality performance horses for over 20 years) but with these two lovely examples of the breed, I soon was traveling to all the dog shows in the area. Soon came Bluegrass Bijou at Alta Vista, and what a fun dog to show! Bijou knew exactly where to put her feet, how to turn on the charm for the judges and has been the prettiest dog anyone could ever own! Alta Vista is a small kennel who believes in producing quality dogs with an emphasis on conformation, temperament and overall personality. Our breedings have produced Champions and many more family companions.
